I know its difficult, but these messes do happen when people trust others financially. I speak from experience of someone who used to forge my signature on cheques!!!
I'm sure the Poster has learned a very harsh lesson, and I feel very sorry for her having that trust turn out like this.
All he has to say is that he has paid her for it, it is registered in his name and he has possesion of it, he's got more proof than the op unfortunately. Op, go and get some legal advice regarding sueing on the small claims court.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
took me nearly 2 years to get my car back police werent interested because 9/10th of the law is who has vehicle now
in this case not lisa
your advice is bad im afraid as you are advising stealing it and you could be cited as an accessory
i had to go to court and prove ownership
She can't steal her own property, but I do appreciate what you say.
If she is prepared to go to court, then this will be the best way, I'm sure."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

The motorcycle itself is probably only worth about £2000 now, which would cover about 65-70% of the remaining loan balance. Would it be financially benefical to sue him for it?
Would I be better off just continuing to pay the loan and count it as a life lesson, if the costs of taking him to court would outweigh what I would gain back from selling it on and settling the loan early?0 -
Do you have an e-mail address for your ex?
If so, why not send them a message asking when they are going to start repaying you for the bike that you bought as you need the money.
Hopefully you may get a reply of some sort in which they confirm what they have already said to you, that they will not be paying as they want to spend the money on their new partner.
If your ex does reply, the e-mail may well come in handy as proof if you do decide to take legal action.0 -

I would sue him, even if just for the satisfaction. I would not want him to get away with it, and I think you won't either."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I do, and I will try this as well.
He's also told me that he will be changing his number soon as well, to basically stop me contacting him at all.
He's made me so mad, but I'm resolved to sorting this out legally (I don't have much choice, I can't have a criminal record, otherwise I will lose my job!).0 -
do you have a record call feature on your phone? if so call him recorded, ask when is he going to pay the AGREED amount of the motorbike loan to you what he says there after is foot in the mouth.
follow up in an email, get a reply of same affect written plus recorded proof. does the bike reciept have your debit credit card details on it? if so more proof to back up you loaned the money, fowlers should be able to provide a copy of the reciept plus your bank statement to correspond with the amount purchased.
get him into small claims, get the bike back or value of the loan dont forget to add interest to cover the loans total balance.0 -

The problem with this is that although it's legal to record telephone conversations without informing the other person, it is illegal to pass these recordings on to a third party so they couldn't be used in any legal proceedings.0 -
I feel for you FL, having been where you are in a previous life.
It's just one of those things that parasites seem to know who to attach themselves to, decent people must give off some aura that they can detect from miles away.
Whatever happens be very glad you are rid of this one, it could have been far worse, you could be stuck with a leech who won't let go till you are bled dry.
As it is the bike will be a rusting heap in short order and the rider just a bad memory.
The very best of luck in the future, and remember though they might be in short supply there are still some men of honour left.0
