They are still growing .. they'll ripen when they are ready
Are you feeding them weekly, with a tomato fertilizer ?0 -
time raven, just time. Most toms. are still green (well mine are) and usually start turning red as they ripen one at a time. Just like us, most plants like a bit of sun some food and plenty to drink, so keep on keeping them happy, and you will have lots of lucious toms. There's nothing like the flavour of the first ripe tommy, eaten in the garden, straight off the plant :T0

As stated, time, just time
I heard on radio the other day that outdoor toms are a bit behind, due to rotten weather of late, dull & cooler than normal. But last few weeks have improved so they should catch up
I am in South Hants BTW, and my outdoor toms, in a fairly sheltered spot, are not yet ripening, but are showing a lightening of the skin, which is prelude to getting on with itWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -

What variety are they ... is it definitely an outdoor type ?0

yes there is and I have been doing this for two weeks now and have beautiful red and juicy tomatoes. You need to look for signs of turning ie a lighter shade of green and perhaps a faint orange blush. Just pick gently and layer them on newspaper in a basket or a cardboard box in a warm room. Cover lightly with more newspaper. Mine took a week to ripen and I have ongoing very red tomatoes daily. Don`t pick them if they are still dark green and like bullets. I have had about 3 kg of luuscious red tomatoes since I started doing this and I have 24 plants either under pvc or outside. Varieties picked so far are gardeners delight, alicante, principe borghes and sungold (dozens so far) I am still waiting for a blush from alaskan fancy. The sungold haven`t needed newpaper
Doing it this way also gives the others a chance to get bigger. I water every day, into growpots and feed with an organic food every 2 weeks0 -
I grow tomatoes every year and a great way to ripen them is to pick them off the plant and place in brown paper bags with a banana and they will ripen quite quickly. Take the banana out of the bag when it starts to go brown and replace it with another one.:j0

If you want to force ripen them that is anyway.
Bananas (especially over ripe ones) have a lot of the hormone / gas ethylene in them (ethene).
Exposing your toms to a large amount of ethylene would have a similar effect.
I'm a bit surprised you've had none ripen up yet.
I'm in the middle of a glut but it might be i started off earlier than you did.
Either the banana trick or time / patience is your way forward0 -
