"The M5 may be heard at the end of the garden...." was how the agent described the situation.
May? and "At the end of the garden?" It's near the top of an uphill stretch where lorries drop down a gear or two. You can hear it well over a mile away!0 -
With the Grade 2 listing being crowed about, I thought they couldn't be.:o Pic 11 says it all.
Looking at the handle at the far left, looks like uPVC - or they couldn't possibly be metal windows frames, could they?
Still awful. Other windows look like dark wood.
Otherwise this will get picked up on survey if not before.
Even uPVC installs made in recent years need paperwork
or the solicitors will require indemnity insurance paid
by the sellers.
Since there's no previous sale price listed on RightMove that indicates it's had the same owners since at least the 1990s.0 -

Remember this one?
Thought it was worth a revisit for Halloween and it's been sold for £60,000 above the asking price (according to the daily mail)

Indemnity insurance won't cover against criminal prosecution for unauthorised alterations to a listed building.
The maximum penalty is two years' imprisonment or an unlimited fine.
Owners must appeal or comply with listed building enforcement notices even if the works were carried out by a previous owner or they risk committing a criminal offence.

Somebody near us did some unauthorised works. The authorities worked out how much he’d increased his house value, and they used the Proceeds of Crime Act to claim it from him!
Edit : Hmm. He was fined £45k but I cannot find any reference to POCA. Perhaps that was discussed but not followed up.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
