Nobody with a double-digit IQ would currently design or build a house with such a layout unless they had take too many or not enough pills.
I'd knock it down and build at least one (or preferably more) better house(s) on the plot.
I quite like it. Grade 2 listed, though, so no chance of doing that.0 -

From a blokey point of view, I had considered installing one when refitting a bathroom in the past but binned the idea when I considered how naff it would look to future purchasers.
In Germany, I've seen what look like cleaners sinks high up with handles each side and discovered they are dedicated "Kotzbecken".Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
Thank you, for clearing-up something that has puzzled me ever since I encountered one in a Mainz bierkeller in 1970...Mutton_Geoff wrote: »In Germany, I've seen what look like cleaners sinks high up with handles each side and discovered they are dedicated "Kotzbecken".
At the best of times I'm quite vertically challenged, and in the state I was on that particular evening, I had no chance of doing what I thought I was supposed to do in that "thing with handles!" :rotfl:0 -
My first foray into posting on this thread as usually I just lurk and giggle.
But what about this?

I could say look at the carpet, but then you might miss the character fireplace, and the mint green or lilac bidets!
That is quite the feast for the eyes!0 -

Must got all those glass bricks at a rock bottom price as they are everywhere!
Also one of the bedrooms is only accessible through the kitchen, utility and the rear lobby. Thank goodness there is a loo just off the rear lobbyThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I think that is the hallway, although why you need one at the back of another hallway goodness knows. The layout is rubbish whatever way you look at it.0 -

That place was probably the height of sophistication in 1978.0 -
Sorry, but I don't believe that place was ever likely to have been viewed as reflecting sophisticated tastes.NaughtiusMaximus wrote: »That place was probably the height of sophistication in 1978.
I owned a house in 1978, and while my memory might have a slight rose tint to it, I'm sure it had very few features that would have dated as much as that one's.
OK maybe the 'oriental' wallpaper in the bathroom... and it had about 50 types of anaglypta, but with interest rates at 14% we had to stave off the need for expensive re-plastering!:rotfl:0
