Me - I'm noticing that it's a modern kitchen - but has got a serving hatch in it still and also a wall cupboard up on stand above worktop (isnt that 1980s style?).

Not a bad house - one can see why the EA emphasises the garden - so one has thought "Not too bad a garden" before thinking "Rip - if not to the extent of some houses".

But garden has what seems to be usual problem of British houses - it ain't private enough. Does wonder, by now, just how many British houses have a private enough back garden - there's so often some neighbours windows somewhere peering in....:(

I always thought serving hatches were naff and pointless, until I moved somewhere with one and found they're actually very useful.

I imagine there are more British homes with garden privacy than there are in, say, Japan. It's population density innit?

Privacy can be achieved, but many people don't bother because it requires effort and patience while things grow. Then there's also the desire to have sunshine and views, which tends to work against privacy.

You'd get on well with my neighbour; the one who shouts obscenities at me. He built a large wall at the front of his property and put in gates so substantial that the pillars collapsed and had to be re-built. Having blocked people's view at the front, he was clearly feeling much more secure.....until they put double decker buses on this route and I came along and laid my hedge at the back! :rotfl:

I spent more time marvelling at the ability to grow palm trees in Lancashire than worrying about the privacy of the garden, until I realised that it wasn't that Preston ...

LOL, that fooled me, too. I looked at the photos and thought, Looks very coasty, where is it? - Preston!? As in "Preston Front"?!

Devon does explain the palms - and indeed the fact it's a bungalow. It is prime "biddy belt" down there.

:rotfl:as my reaction to those palms was the correct Preston and "Oh my climate" ie that I'm used to...hence viewing the garden with interest...

I'm very impressed at Rightmove galaxy coverage if Daleks view property.

But the listing should be clearer that it isn't a "true bungalow". I do think it's unfair if viewers travel trillions of miles only to find that the house is unsuitable for them.
