Lewisa is understandably upset. I don't blame him for venting at every opportunity. :)
Neither do I, and I wouldn't down-play the amount of upset he has been caused, but it still seems to me that he is talking about something different from money's musings.

The sort of thing he is referring to can arise in a variety of ways, including just having the 'wrong' name.

We see so many lovely properties where the agent dismally fails to adequately photograph the interesting features yet here we see the agent going to the trouble of, apparently, standing in the bath to obtain the best possible angle to allow us to appreciate the decaying bathroom floor. Excellent work! :D

I think the agent was either very tall or used a step ladder too.

I like how the worn-away floor has been painted to match the tiles exactly in colour, if not in shape!

Rather nice house that comes with a Medieval title of Lord/Lady of Horton (small print, not hereditary and you don't get a seat in the Lords). Lovely views, *and* you get the right to strip any local shipwrecks :rotfl:

What is it with these EA whereby they spend half the 'promotional' video showing furniture!

Are you saying that you have already 'caught' the previous owner's bad habits, failing to pay bills, driving without due regard to the rules of the road etc and then denying liability?

    If you are, fair enough.

If not, then you are talking about something else.

While I fully understand that Mr Previous Occupier can not have any bearing on Mr New Occupier's credit file, it does not mean that there is no potential effect on Mr New Occupier's life. In potentially serious ways.

Were we still to be in "not at this address" mode for letters addressed to other people, we would not have opened the nondescript plain envelope to Mr Previous Occupier informing him of the warrant of entry, and in 3 weeks time I would have returned home to find my home broken into and a prepay meter installed loaded witb someone elses debt. This would result in a Kafkaesque nightmare to resolve. It is already a Kafkaesque nightmare.

So by all means cast aside my post in a jolly way, i dont mind, but you should not be advising that previous occupiers can have no effect as it is clearly complete horse poo.

I'm sorry you have been a victim of mistaken identity.

I'm also sorry that you have misinterpreted my light-hearted response to MITSTM's post on what is a very lightweight thread.

I could say much more about personal experiences with the kind of issue you raise, and with false accusations, but this isn't the place.

    Good luck sorting it out.
