    Another perfectly nice looking house:

Except the estate agents haven't shown a photo of the garden from the house, I wonder why that is? Check out street view, it's the third house from the bottom of the road with a bizzarre garage that looks in bad shape but may cause trouble with the neighbours because you can't knock it down without knocking down their's too

The trolley retrieval van looks a bit ominous, as well.
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

Looking between these two houses, just wanted to see what other peoples opinions are :)

I'm a FTB looking to move and get sorted as soon as possible really. Hoping for no onward chain, may have a friend living with me as a lodger so 2nd bedroom needs to be reasonable.

    Prop 1 - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-49350818.html?premiumA=true

Pros - Good off road parking, really big living room, good garden (if in need of tidying), conservatory and no onward chain so ready to go. Also been on the market for 4 months (previous sale fell through as buyer couldnt sort deposit) so potentially more negotiable on price.

Cons - Slightly small 2nd bedroom, conservatory looks a bit tatty from outside with the wood so not sure on condition

Area is reasonable and close to work so not an issue, neighbours seem okay from viewings done

    Prop 2 - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-48683245.html

Pros - off road parking, extra bedroom in comparison, bigger garden, potential tod evelop downstairs loo on side of kitchen maybe

Cons - Only just gone on market, maybe less negotiable, not as ready to go as other house - still finding a property, area is less desirable, close to a scrap metal yard

Going to organise 2nd viewings shortly, but just looking to see what others think! My price range is around £140-£160k so both doable

Property 2 is the clear winner in my opinion.
It's got a third bedroom, nicer kitchen, amazing garden, and a proper hallway - the stairs in the lounge in property one would put me off because noise from the TV would carry right up to the bedrooms if someone was sleeping.

Thanks :) Tbh I hadnt even thought about the noise going upstairs from the TV thats a good point.

Whilst I know its difficult, how much discount would somebody generally look at as reasonable if its only been on a short time - That second one has only been on a couple days compared to months with the first one.

I'd say number 2 is the winner, but don't know about the areas each is in though.

Extra box room for prop 2 (could be study) and a better garden.

Prop 1 sold for £132k less than a year ago. I'd want to know why are they selling so soon? Neighbour issues or a legit reason? Also why the £20k increase in price, seems a bit keen!

Again good points, I hadnt checked the previous sale price, will definately be asking some more questions about that - I can see they have redone the driveway and the bathroom since the previous sale, but yea, be interested to see why moving again so soon - the EA said they had found a new build coach house but maybe that's not the whole story.

Definately some more digging to do I think.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions, really helpful!
