The interior design has a French shabby chic look
Well...I know I don't basically do colour in a house, .....but that house needs some colour in it. More to the point, I'm wondering where the rest of the garden has gone. Looks like some previous owner got particularly greedy at "flogging off the garden" to build on and the remaining bit is disproportionate.0 -

Would you rather they kept them and we built on more countryside?
What if the modern overheads of these properties are such that keeping all the land means letting the house itself fall into disrepair?
In this case, it seems likely that the main road was re-routed, some time in the C20th, leaving the house with a peninsular garden, much of which has become modern housing relatively recently.0 -

I actually quite like this one. Loved the write up by the EA "Wow !! ..... An incredibly rare opportunity to acquire a large, character, converted barn, IN A FRONT LINE POSITION OVERLOOKING THE SEA", 10/10 for effort :T

Not from the UK, but a salutary lesson in when interior design goes hideously wrong....it's just creepy.

Ancient monument?....Pft! We had one of those out front, except ours was a long barrow.:p It contained many treasures from a previous era: notably the original house frontage, ripped out at the time of the last extension.
The people who did that were definitely prehistoric - probably homo bodgealottae.;)0
