Yeah it looks like an ornamental shell...probably to go with the aqua theme of a bathroom. It looks rather obtrusive of the his and hers basins - you would need to stand to the side of the basins to use them.

This house is alright but has some weird artwork - see photo 5. Also there is a strange painting of a surprised looking man in photo 8 (he's obviously just seen photo 5!).
