I try to guess the ages of the vendors by their decor. Obviously, I have no way of proving this unless I were to view every property, but it keeps me amused.

If you did that to our sitting room we'd be about 87!

We inherited a lot of old stuff, which we kept because we were buying a farmhouse in Wales. :)

Trouble is, we bought a relatively modern bungalow instead.....:o

How many satellite dishes do they need?
call this a geek moment but the black dishes are sky, its a flat so one for upstairs, one for downstairs. sky use 60cm dishes, as do most of the people that watch the football being broadcasted on foreign channels rather than sky, that large dish is probably a massive one from maplin being used for that purpose (the ones there are a lot bigger than 2ft diameter lol)

Similar to us. We inherited the carpet, lights and curtains of the previous retired (and deceased!) owners. We've replaced windows, doors, electrics and kitchen - all the important stuff, but have now spent all the money we had saved, so no more money for frivolous 'needs'. They're good quality but the curtains are like something out of Dynasty! So much frou frou. :o And as they're big windows I don't want to buy cheap only to replace them with better ones later on. Its been 3 years now, and how i'd love to put my own stamp on the place.

Me too. Would like to move house but too scared.

    I have twigs :o

ETA - though, to be fair, only 1 bunch. No swags, gymnastic teddies, ducks, spooky models, statues or clutter. And last time I looked I had roofs where I should have roofs. So probably ok :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I'm so behind the times. I never got into twigs. When I eventually considered it they were deemed naff, so I dodged that bullet. :D

I think I get it from my mum. She keeps telling me I should get streaks and a perm, and artex my perfectly fine ceilings!

I was thinking it was a house and not a flatted property (should have read description).

I'm feeling a terrible failure. All the houses for sale in my part of Yorkshire are presented nicely without a surfeit of twigs. I just can't find a shocker to submit here :(
