In many houses of this type, yes. Mine is like this. (Except it's downstairs, through the dining room, through the kitchen, past the back door and into the bathroom

There seem to be loads of houses with downstairs bathrooms around here, particularly Victorian semis, I live in a 1930s semi and my bathroom is off the hall just before you get to the kitchen. I'm really looking forward to moving to a house with one upstairs lol :j0 -
