Looking some woodburning boiler stove info.

Hi,
We are for fitting a wood burning boiler stove and after visting a few local suppliers all of whome say different things I thought we'd look for some impartial advice:D

Our house is quite big and old some walls are 3-4ft thick stone 4 bed detached. We have a working open fire place with big back boiler (18" i think) the fire also has a fresh air exterior vent. The problem is neither is very effective the fire is recessed into the wall by about a foot and does not throw any real heat out into the room and the back boiler is of a terrible design letting the heat fly past it.
The house has 20 rads 2 of which are in the living room.

my question is roughly what size boiler would you recommend? big as can get and flat out feeding it or medium sized and keep er pumping?

Any help, hint, tips recommendations welcome :)

Thanks Mal
