Kiln Dried Logs - is it worth the price difference?

Last year we moved into a property with a stove and found out the hard way that burning wet/green wood is not a warming experience! So this year I plan to ensure we get the right stuff!
Doing a bit of research it would seem that kiln dried wood is the best bet in terms of a guaranteed low moisture content and so a good burn straight from the bag.
Just wondered if folks could share their experiences using it against regular seasoned logs as there is a not inconsiderable price difference.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, but you will pay the price for the drying process, it's plain lazy and not at all MSE centric.
'Next' years wood should be sourced during the preceding winter, cut and stacked to dry for at least the six months.
Trees cut down during winter have a lower water content than trees cut during summer (and are likely to be cut legally), winter cut wood dries during spring, summer and autumn at no cost.
Pay £50 a ton for raw uncut winter wood in Feb/Mar or a heck of a lot more in August.
Kiln dried will burn perfectly but you will be out of pocket.0 -
Personally I would leave wood for a year.
A simple tarpaulin is sufficient to cover a stack of logs and keep them dry.0
