Hi,
I would like to purchase an iphone 4 PAYG using the clubcard double up scheme, however, I do not want to use tesco/O2 network.
According to tesco website, the phone is locked to tesco for 12 months before they will unlock it for you.
Is there anyway these phones can be unlocked within this 12 month period please?
There are a number of sellers on ebay claiming they can but I would be grateful for any advise from anyone who has tried this or in the know.
Thank you for any help

If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

Pay the 12 months line rental off as an early termination fee if you want to do it the official way...
Other ways are possible but would mean if you later wanted to update it via itunes, then it would most likley revert to a locked status.0 -
Thanks for the advise. I was planning on getting the PAYG but maybe I should look at the contract option.
The ebayers I have been looking at claim they go through itunes so it becomes permanently unlockedIf you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

Tesco/o2/vodafone etc when they unlock it they send the requerst to Apple who mark it as unlocked in the apple masster database. The next tiome it syncs it unlocks.
Unless they have access to that database (possible but unlikely) any unlock will not be permanant, in the past Apple have re-locked phones when they released a firmware upgrade so the "proper" way is the only reliable way, unlike most phones where the lock status is help only on the phone.0
