Shirt and tie is the core of it, people understand its really hot. I recruit on a regular basis and would expect people in a suit as a jacket could always be removed.
No tie however is an almost unforgiveable sin - they would have to be a very good candidate to progress any further.

id forgotten to put my tie on for an interview i had the other week and i wasnt offered the job but luckily i wasnt too keen on the job

today i decided to wear a suit for my interview

The interview was fine and I made the right choice by wearing a dress.

Ive got the same problem as the OP today, im considering a jumper with shirt and tie, in this heat wouldnt wear a suit as id be getting uncomfortable.

Off topic slightly, apologies... in warmer weather, isn't a jumper warmer than a suit jacket? With a jacket it will be open whilst sitting and is easily removed. A jumper can look too casual in my opinion.

    I thought that too!

I have suits made from lighter fabric for the summer and those jackets would be much more comfortable than a jumper.

Maybe you are unemployed because instead of looking for work you are not reading things properly, OP is a woman and has already had the interview.
