I replaced the motherboard, processor, memory on my PB imedia 2326, with this bundle: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003YGWYHO/ref=oss_product
I got BOOTMGR is missing, Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart. After reboot, Jerifying DMI Pool Data....Update Success, DISK BOOT FAILURE,INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.
I have tried recovery using Win 7 installation disks, and Paragon recovery media without success, and tried to fix the MBR from various searches I have done without success. My hard drive is not recognised, although my USB one is.
I have (at least) two partitions on my main drive.
Any ideas please?

Have you tried changing the HDD setting from master to cable select or the other way round?0

What m/board have you replaced?0

Just a generic PB one. Model no: MCP78PVM-PM rev1.0

I haven't changed/added a hard drive. Just have an external usb.
Wow, good thing I re-read my first post
What is your current hard drive, IDE or SATA ?
Back to basics, drive not being detected.
Remove all cabling, install only what you need and unplug everything else. IIRC on IDE drives I think the end connector is regarded as the master? If it's IDE make sure you have it setup with the relevant jumper settings
If it's SATA, you may need to provide drivers.Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

Did you attempt a 'startup repair' and how many times? Sometimes it can take several attempts of 'startup repair' to get you up and running after replacing a motherboard. It doesn't work everytime, but Windows 7 seems more resilient when doing this. I am assuming the hard drive is connected and working correctly.
I have done it myself when I replaced motherboard, memory & graphics card.

I think you have changed too much by moving from an AMD platform to an intel one, for your pc to just work. I know that with XP this wouldn't work . . . but I can't say it won't work with W7. I would be very surprised if it did.
"My hard drive is not recognised, although my USB one is." - is the drive not seen in bios at all ?
I would have expected the drive to be detected - just not a working OS on the drive .
If you get " BOOTMGR is missing " then surely the drive is being read but the right 'bootmgr' is not ??0 -

I've had the error myself, usually because I forgot to plug something in or change the bios boot order:rotfl:Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

Thanks for the replies folks. I will unplug anything unnecessary, and replace the sata cables with the ones that came with the motherboard.

Installaing your version of Windows on your old motherboard would have use generic drivers in the place that you didn't supply specific SATA ones
I think there's a chance you'll need to put your SATA drivers on a CD-Rom and then supply them for the drive
BTW, have you tried booting up with a recovery CD and checking in disk management to see if the disk is listed there?Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them
