in may this year i was at a mcdonald's restaurant writing an essay for about 90 minutes, getting drinks and food for most of it
un aware there was a 75 minute limit... so next day or two i got a letter through the post giving me a £70 fine
obviously wrote back saying i'm not going to pay... there are no laws regarding private land parking, and its contract law so they can only claim for profits lost... the car park was empty so i didn't impact on sales
they will have me on cctv in the restaurant the whole time, so its ridiculous they are trying to charge me... i said all that in a letter saying i was not gonna pay
it even says on a notice that they will extend the time limit if the customer asks, so its only unlucky i didnt realise there was a time limit!
now they have got c.a.r.s debt involved... what do i do???
i'm not getting bullied into paying a stupid charge

Did you really get a fine? Can you scan the "invoice" and show us the word "fine"? What can you do? Well you can stop wasting your time and money on stamps. Then do whatever you normally do on a Thursday evening.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Ignore Parking Spy. Plus their new debt collectors who have the same power as me to ask you for money. That will be none!!
But seriously would you take this debt collection company serious??????

C.A.R.S can do nothing except request you pay. Their system is set up to try and recover legit debts, these parking charges are not a legitimate charge. Only a court can legitimise the parking charge.
You can try if you wish write and tell C.A.R.S that the debt is disputed and they should pass it back to Parking eye. Whether they do or not?0 -
I love the bit about being reported to the local authorities. What a joke....Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
