Delivery issues with Mobile Fun (Customer services too!)

Has anyone else had inordinate difficulty with getting "next day" delivery form Mobile Fun? I ordered a case and charger for my new mobile from them on 7 July, but when it had not come within a week, I tried to contact them. I know the address I gave was fine - I double-checked it with the order.

They said in an email (the telephone number they have for customer services is seemingly never answered by a human) that they expected me to wait fifteen working days for it to "turn up" because Royal Mail would not let them chase it before then. I confirmed this by looking at Royal Mail's website - they do indeed expect you to wait three weeks for a non-signed-for "next day" delivery.

So then Mobile Fun sent an email with a form attached that I was told to sign and return by post to a freepost address. I duly did this on 26 July. I photographed the thing going into a postbox in Leeds just in case. The box is emptied every day.

They claim now that they never received the letter. So I have sent the attachment back by email today.

I'm annoyed on several fronts.

1. How many coincidences does it take for a parcel and the refund request form relating to it to go missing?
2. Why does a firm dealing in mobile phone accessories not have a customer services number that a) puts you through to a person, and b) is free to call from most contract phones?
3. Why does it take 24 hours minimum to respond to an email? Are they getting that many mislaid parcels?

All in all, most fed up. I can only hope that they don't claim the email went missing! The cost of the goods might not be that much, but since buying the phone a car repair and a couple of other unexpected things have started to pinch the pockets, so it does matter to me.

  • Well some positive news! Mobile Fun called this morning to say that Royal Mail returned the parcel to them undelivered as "not in and not called for". Claim to have tried to deliver it but couldn't and that I did not come to the RM depot to collect it.

Well how can I collect it when there has been no note through the door to say they tried? I would have needed that card to know which depot to go to, and to have a reference for the parcel!

So Royal Mail have made Mobile Fun look bad twice over. :naughty:

Anyway, the nice man from Mobile Fun is redelivering the parcel to my work address, which should be much easier, and he is going to sort out the debacle regarding my refund request. Apparently their website based email stuff is getting messed up somehow, so it is making their work difficult at the moment.

So hopefully on Monday I will have my case and charger for my phone. Yay!!! :j
