one of my neighbours is a seller on ebay he has managed
to run up £250 in seller fees, unfortunatly he is currently
in jail and his mum is sorting out his finances.
She wants to repay this on his behalf, not sure if
she has the total amount to pay it in full.
she has a letter from a company called iqor requesting
the amount I think they are a debt recovery agency
should she deal with this company or ebay direct ?
What would be the best way of repaying this ?
Any help gratefuly recieved , thanks

Hi
A quick search on google suggests that iqor is a debt recovery agency so the best place to post this is the DFW part of the forum. She needs to talk to this company directly however it would be much better done in writing rather than telephone calls then there is a paper trail. You will find more info and the best ways to deal with DCA on the DFW forum.0 -
Tell him to sort his own bloomin' mess out.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

What has he done with the thousands he must have got in sales to have these fees to pay?0
-
He bought a people carrier, some nice stretchy stockings & guns for him & his friends.
Unfortunately whilst trying to withdraw a large amount of money from his local bank the police arrived, impounded the motor, stockings & guns, so he can't even resell them to pay the fees.0 -
This sounds so much like a wind-up it's got to be true.
I would sort it out at the earliest opportunity if you are satisfied the invoice is correct. If you leave it too long or resist them, they will only add to your bill."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Am I missing something? They are chasing the jailed son for his unpaid fees. She should write to the debt recovery agency and tell them he is in prison. It isnt her issue.0

Is there any chance that the reason he's in jail in away way relates to the items he's been obtaining and selling on eBay? :embarasse
Either way, I'd avoid getting involved with the unpaid fees or the debt recovery agency. The last thing I would do is become an integral part of the son's business dealings!"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

is the debt recovery company based in England. or Scotland if there. I have never heard of ebay actually taking it further than letters, but i may be wrong.0

Mother should send the letter it or take it when she visits the son. If he's big enough to be in prison he's big enough to clean his own crap up.0
