You can get windows 64 bit here, choose the version you have, and whether it had SP1 originally

sorry im not sure im understanding, why do I need this? I have got a an ISO allready earlier on today I can get it to the page where it starts repairing the system, but that is when I get the options to Restore, Repair, Recovery, Windows memory Diagnostic and Command prompt.

none of the options work as they cant find what is wrong. I did a chkdsk c:/r and that found no problems so I dont think it is hardware related

It is the installation CD rather than a repair disc

    .........

Best option is to create a bootable USB Pen

Basically format a USB as FAT32, using custom windows installation files with the HP USB Pen Tool

Alternatively, download Hirens Boot CD and run that. You can at least get access to your computer so you can backup and reinstall

Do I need to delete the partitions before I install? I thought if I do then windows wont be on my system anymore so how will I be able to recover it?

You shouldn't be using any installation disc at all at this stage. Your machine should have its own recovery procedure.

Yeah I completely forgot about the size of the downloads, stopped downloading them all. I'll grab then one at a time later anyway

My internet DC's a lot, uploading 4gb of youtube videos per night is taxing enough :(

Did you try Alt + F10 on startup?
  • As your laptop is only 3-4 months old it should still be under manufacturers warranty. Therefore you'll be entitled to a repair or replacement from the manufacturer. I think this is the option you should pursue in this situation.
