My new Acer laptop only 3-4 months old is not loading into windows anymore, I tried to go into safemode and it loads a lot of files and the last file it loads is a CLASSPNP.SYS and then freezes for a few minutes and goes onto starting windows and I get a message saying windows cannot load in safe mode.
Then it restarts and a message comes up that there was a problem with installation and I need to restart, I keep going in a loop as everytime it resarts it goes to the same error.
anyone know what I can do? I hope it can be fixed
Thanks

if u press f8 or f10 on startup u should be able to gain access to the recovery console and try recovering from there .BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

I tried F8 and it gives me a menu
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Comand Prompt
Start Windows Normally
no matter which I choose I always get the same error, in safe mode it says loading windows files and then freezes once it gets to Windows/system32/drivers/classpnp.sys
then after a while it says setup is starting windows but cant complete the installation in safe mode and to restart in normal mode.
when I do normal mode i get the error ' windows could not complete the installation, to install windows on this computer restart the installation'Blessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0 -
Disconnect any peripherals and try again.
If all else fails:
For this solution you will need a working computer with an optical disc writer.
Windows 7 64bit?
Download and save the Windows 7 64-bit Repair Disc image to your Desktop.
Next, download and install ImgBurn(No need to install the Google Toolbar. Remove the relevant ticks). Burn the Image to Disc. Use this guide(skip step 2b)[/QUOTE]
Follow these instructions to choose Startup Repair.0 -

I have downloaded the file and set the bios to boot up from USB but its not picking up the pen drive, can I use the pendrive to boot up the Laptop or will it have to be a CD?Blessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0

You will need to create the USB recovery stick from the iso, you can't just mount it.
In terms of speed, you could try unzipping the iso (possible with WinRar), and move these files to the USB stick.
Otherwise you will need a live USB creator tool.First Time Buyer to Be!

I tried startup repair and that still didnt fix the problem, I can now get into DOS so I am thinking of reinstalling the operating system, how do I install the operating system in DOS? I dont have a windows CD as the laptop didnt come with it but I now do have a boot CD
if that doesnt work then I am going to format and install windows that way but wanna see if I can get some of my work before I lose itBlessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0 -
You can get windows 64 bit here, choose the version you have, and whether it had SP1 originally
