Keep refreshing JL website but as I can't register in advance I know I have zero chance of getting one if it shows in stock. :mad:0 -
I am fairly sure someone else mentioned it earlier but I thought I would remind you that amazon.de is selling wii's - you just need an adapter for the power chord but all the instructions are in english, unlike the controller we got from cd wow which is in chinese!
They won't ship to the uk!0 -
You know what I don't get.
There are people on ebay selling links to the stock updaters. I had already found them on google before I found this thread.
I've just checked google again & apart from a JL & Argos link at the top of the page in a yellow band..the first 2 results are for stock updaters. ?:|

£179.99
Been into the WH Smith store in Cambridge today and they had Wii consoles in stock at £179.99 with £5 off any game when you buy the console. Might be worthwhile to look away from the big high street game sellers and the extortionate websites to find the Wii at the recommended price.
Hope this helps someone!
Also today and tomorrow in store it is 10% off any spend of £5 or more, so there is the potential to save some money on your purchase. Don't know if this is a nationwide promotion or not.

I have just spoken to someone at Argos, and apparently they will be checking multiple reservations of Wii's through the same accounts. What was suggested was to use the text service.
If it helps people on here, and for those without access to a PC full time, use the Argos text reply service for a really quick reservation. I have pasted the details below:
STEP 1 - opt in to a 'back in stock' text message- Type the catalogue number, enter a space, then type in your nearest town name or the store number where you want to make the reservation (list of stores provided at the back of the Argos catalogue or in our Store locator).
- Send your text message to 61201.
- Unless the item has come back in stock since you last tried to reserve it, you will be advised that the product is out of stock. You will then be offered the option to opt in to a ‘back in stock’ text message. Opt in to the message by texting YES.
- When the item comes back in stock, you will receive a text message (normally sent at around 8.00am on weekdays and 9.00a m on weekends).
- If you reply RESERVE, the product will be held for you at the store of your choice for 24 hours.
- If the product does not come back in to stock within 10 days, you will receive a text message advising you of this. At this point, you can opt in again or cancel the request.

My experience of the text system is that it doesn't work online reservations have priority and at the moment its totally oversubscribed anyway.
I registered for this system on 29/10 sent the item code 11:34 out of stock answer 11:35 YES'd it answer back 11:36
I've not had one text saying its in stock since, but the re opting in confirmation has took progressively longer 1 hour on the 04/11 3 hours on the 10/11 and I've had nothing out of it since.0 -

You will need another controller or you wont be able to play Tennis Doubles and will have to play with yourself (so to speak).
The controllers are just as hard to get as the consoles, but if you can get it I recommend Wii Play as you get a few good party games thrown in.0 -
