however when i sent a text for my local shop it said in stock.... so now have a reservation number and am hoping to collect tomorrow..... was still showing out of stock online even while i waited to recieve the reserved text.. so might be worth texting your local Argos!!!
HTH
went to Argos first thing this morning and got my wii :T got told they had 30 in yesterday!! So although it was showing out of stock all night online.. i got it by texting to reserve.
Woman also told me that Argos keep 2 in reserve in case there is any problems... so i wonder if it is worth going into a shop at closing time if you know they have had some stock!!!
Would def keep trying with Argos though as know they keep getting them in!!
Good luck to everyone else0 -

You could well be right. Have a look at this lot: http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=argos+wii
It's only a handful of people selling these. Thing is, if you can be guaranteed a Wii for £190 that may be quite a good deal! I wonder how many of these codes will work though.[/quo
My son works in Argos and all reservations are being cancelled unless you ring up and confirm, they had 10 angry customers in the shop today and also some that had bought the code from Ebay.0 -
why would you ring up and confirm
if you have a number you then its resereved ..... no body would ring upVal0 -

It is Head Office rules, one man had travelled about 25 miles and was told it had been cancelled when he got to the shop, in the end one of the staff let him have hers because she felt sorry for him having travelled so far. I know it is hard to believe but please don't travel miles without ringing first.0 -

If this is being abused will it result in ring and reserve being withdrawn(If this is possible) for wii's0 -

No the email doesn't say to ring up and confirm, I think ring and reserve would be okay because you would be speaking to someone at the store, there is another thread on the Argos board about reservation codes for Wiis0 -
OK everyone, if you are absolutely determine to get the Nintendo wii for Christmas without having to pay over the odds on E-bay or elsewhere here is the solution. Order it through German or French Amazon. My colleague ordered through German site at 249 euros + postage (£180) and it was delivered 4 days later by DHL. You will find the link to these sites at the very bottom of Amazon home page. The text will be in German/French but the layout is identical to the UK site, so if you are familiar with it you should not have any problems ordering the item. You are also able to log in using your UK account name and password instead of registering a new account. Please remember you will need to buy 3 pin adaptor but these are available on E-bay for £1.50 if you already don’t have one. They sell both used and new so make sure you are buying a new one priced at 249 euros. Good luck.0
