have just spoken to a member of staff at pc world to be told that there are no nintendo wii,s in the uk and thats the way it is likely to remain.will just have to settle for a psp instead.:confused::confused:
  • Does anyone know if the games bought in America will work in the wii's bought here. I am going to new York soon and could pick up some for the kids if they do.

  • Keep trying! It is possible!

I managed to get one earlier from John Lewis - and also got £20 off using Telegraph offer! :j

Keep an eye on www.wii-consoles.co.uk. It worked for me!

I think the wii's are regionalised and the games from the USA prob wont work in a UK brought wii unless it has been chipped or modified if you can do that with a wii. I am not a techie expert so pls dont take this as gospel just incase i am wrong!

Your right, they are regionalised. American games won't work here.
And yes you can chip them, though AFAIK it requires a bit of soldering. I believe they are called wiikey. I do not know how legal they are because they do sell them on uk websites.

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.
  • Thanks for that guys.

The reservation code has now been taken, but there is still stock showing at Edinburgh Kinnaird Park.

Edit: Just checked again, all gone now.

  • For the person looking for a console in Glasgow, probably too late but I put my name down for one in Gamestation, Union ST LAST Monday and they phoned yesterday saying they had one. I had managed to hit lucky in virgin Argyle St on the Monday so didn't need the one from Gamestation.

What i am saying therefore is

    ? any still in Gamestation
Put your name down and hopefully you will hit lucky as can't fault the service and time scale even if no longer needing it.

If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:
