But if your getting the Wii's from Argos and buying £100 & £50 vouchers to receive the £10 & £5 bonus vouchers beforehand. Then buying the Wii with these and getting another £10 voucher. The Wii's are only costing £154.99.
At £200 the sellers are still making a decent profit.
The ones that aren't sold can be cashed in at CEX for £190 or last resort, returned to Argos under their 30 day returns policy.
I'm afraid it's a sellers market at the moment - What it needs is Nintendo to stop playing to the stock shortage hype and get the consoles on the shelves.
yup and the clever ones are holding on to them until december as there will be an even bigger shortage then with people more desperate than ever to get hold of one0 -
where does it say that dhl send wii parcels for £5-7. I thought the cheapest was Royal Mail at approx £20. Are there any cheaper?I say what I like, I like what I say!0

A few posts ago some knob called "dangerousports" was a prime example of the kind that should fall flat on their !!!!!! with wii's they have to sell at a loss!!

i know this is a hot topic at the moment, but the WII situation in DEC will be manic. The prices on ebay will only go one way, demand is way more than UK supply. The stock arriving at the mo is the big chunk of UK stock before xmas. It will be gone by Mid November max.
Demand in one leading retailer is over 100k units per week at the moment, 10 weeks b4 xmas. CEX wouldnt be giving 190 PEX if they could pay less too.
Just keep the faith and dont buy on ebay yet, stocks are out there is you persevere in OCT early NOV at least.0 -
Just to add my thoughts on this.
I work for a major high st retailer. With the announcement by Nintendo, requirement increased 12 x. People are now placing orders with all retailers and placing orders with 10 different retailers to look to cancel with the other 9 when they get them. There is now a massive shortage - we can only fulfill 1/4 of all orders.
If anyone can get them then buy now. Towards Xmas I can see prices going up by £50.
Also, whilst I wouldn't do it myself, if you can afford a risk, then if you can get the stocks, you could turn a nice profit on ebay.0 -

I missed the announcement, what was it (something about the family competition?)?
If people are placing ten orders for one Wii and your shop can personally only statisfy a quarter of your orders, doesn't that indicate that once supplies come in, there will be more Wii's than orders.
(Assuming one in ten of your orders will become a sale and you could satisfy two and a half in ten). Just using your figures...
Personally I'm not going to be ripped off on this one, I am not paying a premium for one.
Does anyone really know what Nintendo are doing; if it is true that the UK has a shortage then wouldn't they be pumping in extra supplies to us for Christmas?
I can see this going to a situation where there are a lot of unsold Wii's on Christmas Eve on eBay, just as it could be one with people paying even sillier amounts than they are now.
Personally, it doesn't seem worth the risk to buy a Wii or two (which isn't easy..) to then potentially make a few quid on eBay.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
The ebay ones i watched last night on and commented on were sold for £200 that was including their posatge so they would be making a max of £10 profit.
There will always be people that pay over the odds, but many like the people on here that would not pay for the overpriced ones on ebay that you cant guarantee will even show up or be what was advertised, as there are always scammers on ebay!!
As for the argos vouchers that ends soon and some stores are only honouring 1 wii per person.
As with other stores.
Yet again the consumers are the ones stressing over it whilst Nintendo are making the profit.!
Happy Christmas everyone!!:p0 -
The HMV at Gallions Reach just off the A13 had 6 Wiis in stock yesterday0

Noticed someone buying one as part of a Wii package in Toys R Us Woking today.
My son says he's happy to get money for Christmas and see if he can get more for his money in the Jan sales - he's a proper MSE in the making :P0
