Heres hoping that this is true, then these greedy @*%$@*@ that were hoping to make a profit by helping to create the shortage by bulk buying, get stung themselves and end up with a heap of consoles they have to sell at a loss.

The price is actually £199 excluding VAT - £234.99 inc vat so it's quite a big hike - £50 or so.

I got one from Gamestation by putting my name down last week - they rang me the next day. Also Dixons on line have them in stock off and on - it's worth keep checking. My friend got one last week and it was delivered within 5 days. Sorry if this has already been mentioned - I haven't read the whole thread
  • If you are in West yorks I have a spare Wii that you can have for £179.97 with Argos receipt as I now have 2 and Argos won't take returns. Yes we have rung them. They have people begging for these and won't take returns of brand new unopened ones. So PM me if you want one at cost - happy to help other moneysavers

Shame that is not going to happen. CEX are even paying £190 cash for used machines.

Even before the shortage they were going on ebay for more than retail + postage - a lot of ebayers are dumb.

Just got Wii Play from Argos in Eastleigh along with some other stuff..
They bought out a Wii by mistake... Unfortunately the person serving checked the numbers against my receipt so I didn't get the Wii, but I did get Wii Play which I actually ordered.

Anyway - Its means there is a Wii in the Eastleigh Argos - although it may have been reserved. Worth phoning up and checking maybe??

There was quite a few Wii Plays in Argos in the Eastleigh / Southampton area btw.
  • Just a heads up for peeps in or around Hull, the new Gamestation opened up in Prospect center today and have a load of Wii`s in stock, I went in when picking my partner up from work tonight on the off chance they might have one and the guy said they had 30 left so I bought one for £237.97 with any two games of my choice and they gave me a voucher for £5.00 off so it was 232.97 with two games I also got a extra controler and nunchuck with wii mini game for £50.00 with a extra £2.00 off voucher so they where only £48.00 for them so 280.95 total.

Not bad and beats paying Ebay rip off prices. ;)

Just been to Asda in Eastleigh & I noticed that they have removed the out of stock sign on the £179,99 base Wii pack with Sports..
I'm guessing other Asda's will also have received stock this morning in the same fashion as last Saturday.
Good luck and don't forget to thank me if you get yourself one ;)

Got a call from Woolworths last night saying they thought they wouldn't be able to get me one before Christmas, then the store manager rang this morning and told me he could def get me one for Thursday, but I had to pay now. So I've paid him and am waiting to see if it comes in, bit risky, but I think it's the manager using his initiative and have a receipt so I'm pretty hopeful. It might be worth talking to a store manager about doing something similar? Also, another fairly small Woolworths near me was getting them in on average six a day, so their list was going down quite quickly,
