  • Just a word of caution for anyone considering buying a Wii from Expansys as previously mentioned on this thread.

Expansys sell wholesale as well as retail, I placed an order for 15 wholesale for my friends shop, on the telephone they gave an assurance that they had them in stock and available for despatch, negotiated a discount and gave them the crdit card details, delivery was promised within 3-5 days.

3 days later, today they send an email at 5.08am saying that the address details were incorrect for the credit card, they took then and they were checked again and found to be correct, and that they would require payment immedaitely by Bank Transfer, they then sent an email at 5.08pm stating that due to an unexpected demand worldwide they were unable to get supplies of them and the order was now cancelled.

It is highly irregular for a company to demand immediate payment by bank transfer, the fact they gave an assurance they actually had them in stock to send out and have now recanted makes me wonder if they are in difficulties.

I wouldn't like to think that a lot of people in desperation paid for their consoles by bank transfer and then maybe the company folds and takes their money with, so beware of buying this way from any retailer, if you do not have a credit card, ask a friend or member of your family to place the order on your behalf using theirs, better safe than sorry.
  • Erm, sorry to interrupt but someone earlier in the thread recommended Komplett.co.uk - I ordered ours on Monday and it arrived today. I just wanted to thank him - terrific service - yes it is a european one, but the plug came for free and it works - just got the kids to bed and OH is happily 'testing' it to make sure all is ok. I can foresee him 'testing' it for hours into the morning - good job he's off tomorrow!!!
Anyway, huge thanks - you really have helped us enormously.

Not sure I'm afraid  the site is still saying that they're in stock though:confused:

I checked my order status this morning, and the site was showing "Stock Due In". I have my tracking number and checked it on Parceline's website and it looks as though my Wii is at least north of the border, in a depot somewhere, so hopefully, fingers crossed and stuff, that it will arrive today.
Whatever happens, I will let you all know.
