Quidco and Barclays

  • Sorry to buck the trend but i took Barclays quote for buildings and contents, tracked overnight and paid within 2 months. More than happy with £120 per year after cashback for a 4 bed house with AD on B & C

This is a reply I got from Quidco about Barclays

We continue to send outstanding enquiries monthly to the merchant,
unfortunately there is little else that we can do. Technically, there is
no obligation to pay out on enquiries that do not track and considering
they have already secured a sale there is also little motivation. It
varies wildly between merchants, some resolve enquiries very quickly and
    others never do.
  • Its a pretty standard reply that you get in respect of any merchant on Quidco.

Its always going to be hard for any affiliate site to get the cashback once it doesnt track. Its something you need to make sure you take into account before buying from somewhere just because of the cashback

I did this last month and it only tracked at £100, sent an email to quidco but had no reply, just hope they pay out. Ive had problems with them not paying in the past and they already owe me £100 in transctions that were met with the same reply as above
  • hmm, i just had building and contents insured with Zuric.. i hadn't thought of splitting the insurance, possibly getting a cheaper quote and increasing my Quidco yield. Oh well, at least i insured my house for a rather cheap 200 quid this year, and i just had money released by Zuric
  • Its not always the best option to do this however as you tend to get massive discounts insuring both B & C so before everyone goes for the cashback on seperate policies make sure it isnt cheaper with just the one policy

In fairness to quidco they do specify that Barclays are not the most reliable for tracking and paying up but saying that, I did get £75 from them last year
;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

    my details

    23 Mar 2006 Barclays Home Insurance 0.00 55.00 paid 05 Jun 2006
    23 Mar 2006 Barclays Home Insurance 0.00 57.64 tracked ~ Jan 2007

got paid for 1 the other has been tracked - I get the same response even though my transaction DID track, Quidco say they keep sending it ?

if its tracked it should be paid I feel anyway.

Id steer clear of doing a joint policy with same person.

On my renewal Im not relying on Quidco again
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T
