Powergen
Would anyone recommend Powergen , they seem slighty cheaper than British Gas , but when i tried to switch last year, Powergen couldn't even set up a Direct Debit properly so I cancelled the switch. I was wondering if things had changed? also what are Powergen like to deal with?
Thanks
Thanks

EBICO seem popular. Part of or contracted to Southern Electric, so a stable service rating.
Have you done a comparison with Energyhelpline ?0 -
use your annual kwh,

and use energyhelpline initially
I'd be surprised if powergen was best for you
I'd also be surprised if Ebico was not the cheapest or in the event it is beaten by 1 or 2 others I'd be surprised if those that beat it only do so by locking you in to 12 months or more - which Ebico doesn't do.0 -
Thanks for your responses,I did a comparison with USwitch a while back. I will give EBICO a try.
Thanks0 -

complete idiots.
As someone mentioned above---switch to EBICo and do yourself a favour.
That's funny, since the aquisition of Powergen by E.On they seem to have slashed their energy watch complaints by hundreds per month, currently second in the table and probably soon to be first as well as investing huge amounts in bringing back all the out sourced work in India.
For whatever reasons you don't seem happy with them, but your opinion of a company that supply 6 million people, most of them very happy with the service, seems slightly.... narrow minded.0 -
I have been really happy with Powergen since I switched last year.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

How about the price? Those 6 million people might want to think about this:
Powergen gas price
Standard tariff direct debit
3.737p for the first 1143 kWh per quarter, 2.972p thereafter
Age concern D/D
3.625p for the first 1143 kWh per quarter, and 3.070p thereafter With £10 cash back! (big whoop!)
Standard tariff quarterly bill or D/D
3.737p for the first 1143 kWh per quarter, and 2.972p thereafter
Age concern Quarterly
3.625p for the first 1143 kWh per quarter, and 3.070p thereafter With £10 cashback! Whoop!
Ebico gas:
monthly direct debit, Quarterly bill or direct debit or prepayment meter All methods
2.55p per kwh - flat rate! Beats Powergen hands down.0 -
Tried to switch from British Gas to Powergen early last year and it was an absolutely horrendous experience. They messed up every step of the way until, in the end, we switched away from them again.0

I have been with powergen for the last two years and they have always worked out the cheapest, I'm now in the process of switching to scotish power as powergen prices have shot up, I only save £116 per year but that in my pocket not powergens. In the 2 years I was with them I never had one single problem, lets hope my changeover goes ok.MSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0
