My OS is Windows Vista and it was Microsoft Security Essentials that popped up the warnings about a trojan. I had a look for the file location and this is what it said:
clsid:HKLM\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\CLSID\{DCE54D63-C414-4507-B622-84659937D306}
file:C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Arcade\Kernel\TV\CLSchedps.dll

I'm installing the Malwarebytes mentioned above and will post up what that says.
Thanks for the help all!

As above, don't run MSE & AVG together - one or the other.
That looks very much like a false positive.C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Arcade\Kernel\TV\CLSchedps.dll0 -

Thanks...it's a shame you can't do two scans at once, I'm an impatient type and they seem to take forever! (i'm sure there's a very good reason why it has to be the way it is- still impatient though!)Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
MSE has a quick scan option - This will scan the more likely areas active malware may be running from.
It's the same with Malwarebytes - the quick scan looks in all the areas active malware may be running from. The full scan might find benign traces of old infections, but these are generally harmless without the full body of the infection present.0 -

I feel committed to the full scan now because it's already scanned 80k+ objects...just hoping there are not a million total!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
I gave up on the full scan and reverted to the quick scan. The log is:

Yes. You can submit the file to MS.
https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Submission/Submit.aspx
Click browse and go to the file
C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Arcade\Kernel\TV\CLSchedps.dll
Tick the box "I believe this file should not be detected as malware" & then submit it.0 -
Thanks, will do!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

Just an observation - note you're using Internet Explorer 7. Upgrade to IE 9 as it's more secure.
The other free anti virus I use is Avira as it carries out a really deep scan - takes a long time though so do it overnight.0 -
You should never have more than one antivirus installed. If you need a second opinion, use one of the many online scanners available.
