I was under the impression that a doctor will not fit a coil if there is a chance you are pregnant, as it automatically makes you abort? In fact, I'm fairly sure this is the case, as I was asked to come in to have my coil fitted when I was actually having my period, to make sure I definitely wasn't pregnant.

should go tp doctor or a and e and get the emgency morning after pill, if you pay for it it costs £25. i thought i would e ok, i used something it didnt wotk. went to the doctor he told me get the coil. thought id be ok, but fell pregnant.........i will be debt free, i will0

Remember that sperm stays alive inside your uterus for 10 days, so you may not have had sex on the day you ovulated but could still get pregnant as sperm can wait in your tubes for the egg to be released.

No, if you are too late for Morning After Pill, and don't want a child, and are suitable for the coil, then the method of choice is to fit a coil. This is after all much less invasive and traumatic for all concerned than waiting another week to make sure of the pregnancy, then carrying out a termination.0 -
