Prepaid EUR cards (with no GBP involved)

Because of an annual fee, I'm soon going to get rid of my EUR-denominated Visa debit card, which will leave me with only Maestro and Amex EUR-denominated cards. I'm fairly sure I'll come across problems (for example my Maestro card can't be used online) and will need a Visa card now and again. Are there any EUR-denominated prepaid Visa cards that can be loaded in EUR and without any fees? I don't want a card that I have to load with GBP, as I already have plenty of EUR and don't want to spend any GBP buying more EUR.

You might find such a beast IN Europe, but not in the UK AFAIK

    Who issued your current card?

Yes, that's what I was thinking too, but I couldn't find one, at least not on a Google search. Of course, I might have to search in many difference languages.

A small bank in an offshore British territory. There's no justification for an annual fee on a EUR Visa debit card, particularly when Citibank UK don't charge one. But I don't want to get a Citibank account just for the occasional transaction.

To answer my own question for the record, I discovered that Neteller offers prepaid MasterCards denominated in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, SEK, DKK, AUD and JPY. Unlike prepaid EUR cards issued in France etc, there are no annual fees or charges for adding funds. They also offer virtual prepaid MasterCards, ideal for online purchases. I would have preferred Visa as I already have Maestro, but MasterCard will usually be fine.

DKB-Cash has a Visa card that you can use without fees. It also pays 2% interest. You can open one outside Germany, but you need to get a bank or lawyer to confirm your identity. http://www.dkb.de/privatkunden/dkb_cash/
