Ryanair - single flight reservation, multiple boarding passes

I have a ticket on a single flight reservation with 7 other passengers. We will not be able to arrive at the airport at the same time. Will it be possible to print of separate boarding passes each so we don't need to all check in together?

When you check in online for Ryanair (usually available from 15 days before your flight but sometimes earlier) you will be able to print off the 8 individual boarding passes and then distribute them to the other passengers.
If there are any of them that you will not be able to do this for then they can reprint their own or any of the boarding passes as long as they know the booking ref, depature and arrival airports and the email address that the booking was made from.
One other thing is if you are going to some countries like Spain then you must provide the passport details, dob etc for all of the people travelling prior to arriving at the airport and posssibly prior to check-in online.
PS don't forget to tell everyone to carefully weigh any hold baggage booked and also check the dimensions and weight of any cabin bags as Ryanair reps can be very strict at departures and it can work out extremely expensive if you are overweight or oversize with hand bagage and it is put in the hold.
Here is a copy of their policy
• Strictly one item of cabin baggage is permitted per passenger (excluding infants) weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm (your handbag, briefcase, laptop, shop purchases, camera etc. must be carried in your 1 permitted piece of cabin baggage).
Failure to adhere can result in a charge of £40 per bag!!!!! but play by their rules and you end up with a cheap flight in newish planes that is usually on time.0 -
How often to they actually check a) weight and b) dimensions of cabin baggage?0

They obviosly chech hold baggage weight when you check the bag in and I think it is about £20 / kg for overweight so check befor going to the airport and also I used to check again on an empty check in desk at the airport so as to be able to remove something if overweight.
As for hand bagage they check the size at most gates in the UK and overseas with some places also checking the weight with a hand scales.
We use a hand held digital scales from Argos or you could get this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Excess-Advanced-Digital-Luggage-Scale/dp/B001E49688/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312390260&sr=8-1 from Amazon for £9.16 delivered free
Definitely worth it for peace of mind0 -
Really, they weigh cabin baggage as a matter of course?! Never seen this before...0

They nearly always check the hand carried bags for size at the gate, often by coming along the queue with a carboard box the same size as the metal cage that must fit over the case. More likely to get checked if a wheeled case with a handle than a soft bag as you can stuff those in although several times I've had to put an obviously undesize bag into the gauge as they insisted on checking everyone.
On a few occasions they have also weighed bags with a digital hand held scales but not so often as checking the size.
As I said previously, their flights are cheap if you play by their rules but lookout if you go outside their limits.
I've had some really cheap flights in the last few years with Ryanair, 4 people return Bristol to Valencia with 2 hold bags last September for £156 total, 2 flights with 1 hold bag return Bristol to Lanzarote June this year for £196
Get some good light correct size soft hand bags and 10kg is quite a lot of clothes.0 -
I'm not sure that you are able to load the advance passenger info prior to checking in online for flights to Spain.0

They check for size and weight. At Stansted Ryanair will offer to weigh your hand luggage before you get to the gate for a fee of course. Its just past the guy who is trying to sell the priority boarding tickets!!0 -

I've always had to put the details in before check-in online when travelling to Spain and the CanariesIT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

You can save the boarding passes as a PDF file so you could then email each passenger with a PDF attatchment so they can print off0
