Where do you get your garlic from?

Got mine from the local garden centre ..."French Thermidrome" I think. Planted November, and harvested in June. Excellent crop, very good flavour. Only cost a couple of pounds for 3 big bulbs.0

this year I left it late, and could not find any in the garden centres. Too late to order-so bought some organic garlic bulbs, 3 in a pack from sainsburys. Planted them and very pleased with the results. Large bulbs no apparent problems .0

Really Garlicky Company for me, as they sell by weight rather than bulbs.
As a rule they only sell one variety, Music, but a kilo will give you approx 90 cloves to plant.0 -
The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight. But then it is just down the road!0

I just plant cloves from the supermarket.0

sally A: how did yours crop do this year as mine were bought from the same company? mine were unfortunately grown in MP compost in the raised bed and I'd say half of them were quite small (smaller than the original bought bulbs). i didn't know I was gonna get an allotment this yr till the last minute, or else I would of planted them in the ground...
they're in the greenhouse still after 2weeks of drying off, so i guess they need to be brought in soon to store.. how do you do yours?0 -
have used shop bought organic bulbs in the past with good results0

@ dogstarheaven - they did really well this year, I'd say a good 90%+ hit rate, size ranged from half golf ball to double golf ball, but all useable.
I've got the vulnerable ones in my back room, ie the ones that have slplit from their casing (approx 20%), and the rest drying out in the greenhouse, either straddled over a basket or dangling between twine in the roof space.
I reckon we get through at least 2 heads a week (for using), more if I'm doing passata after tomato harvest (for storing/freezing), so I aimed for 150 good ones, have given a few away.
No-one needs a sat nav to find me, they just hang their head out the window and sniff!
