A HB store opened kinda near me recently but I've never been in. Is HB just like B&M or Poundland? Sorry know that sounds like a daft question but I don't know whether to go out of the way and have a look or is it one of those places that you just get the odd bargain in?

Definitely worth a visit. I go to B&M and Poundland too but never seem to get anything whereas Home Bargains ...... that is another story. They are just brilliant and everytime you go in, they have their specials near the front door which change regularly. They are still good though for the regular things they have, various food items, toiletries, Nicky toilet roll, (used to always used Andrex but now converted), they also often have short date life food items which are really cheap. Go, go, go ......:rotfl:

Oh my word, you don't know what you're missing!!! It's my favourite shop in the whole world!! :rotfl:

I have regular stuff that I buy there every week - food items, bleach, kitchen / toilet rolls etc - but also they have stuff that just comes in for a short time, such as toys, books etc - I usually pop in twice a week for a nosey to see what's new, and end up spending way more than I should! LOL xx

I agree - it's the best! Some quality kids' toys, like someone posted above, the Homes & Gardens stuff is great and works wonderfully - I really rate the glass cleaner. I got some RoC stretchmark oil there for £1.49 I think! Also lovely cake tins for £1.49 - similar ones in Tesco for £8.99! And a 100 wash box of Surf for £9.99. Last week I got 2 x Galaxy bars for 19p each. It's brill!

Don't tell me that, I got a cake tin (loose bottomed Go Cook Professional one) last week. Might dig out the receipt if I can get one in HM instead.

Thanks for all the info. I was worried it might be a wasted trip but I'm looking forward to a good rummage now.

Redditch yesterday had lots of the babyliss hair bits and pieces for 39p, so many that it was difficult to look at them all as they were all crammed in a basket!

There was also quite a lot of the wella shampoo, etc that people have mentioned

Quite a few m and s valentines cards, some were £3 to £4 rrp.

And some other branded cards for 29p

They had the money boxes, but random names:David, Holly, Christopher,
Jessica and the bike fund one

    Hth someone :)
