hi i'm new and definitely do want to be dfw - today i didn't spend anything and me and dd1 and dd2 invited to friends for lunch ( so no cost!!) and took home made biscuits - so didn't feel need to buy expensive ones.
we also made our own playdoh and loads more than could buy - we used value flour. i posted my letter to claim back bank charges (have been too scared til now) and tonight am going to start looking through bank statements to do a proper soa rather than just list bills and debts. What do i spend all my money on - didn't spend anything today!! v pleased with that0 -

3 Made HM Spag Bog for dinner
4 Checked bank accounts on line
5 Came on MSE of course:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
What have I done today MSE stylee:-
Got my car towed into the garage for free curtesy of the RAC
Spent the rest of the afternoon asleep on the sofa, super duper MSE as no money left my purse or accounts!!!
Nipped into baby Tesco to pick up some eggs and left only with eggs and nothing else!
What I intend to do:
Menu plan for the next 10 days
Write to close down a few rogue bank accounts I have that are open and unused
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
I took my own lunch to work again so that saved about £2, and resisted chocolate, coffee or pop from the machines, and stuck to water, saving about another £1.
I made £1.18 by signing up/searching on Quidco.
I found a book with 3 first class stamps in at the back of my drawer when tidying up at work. I don't think they're mine but they're not the companies either as we don't use stamps, so I used them to send off a couple of letters, saving 96p. They're old Christmas ones but not the most recent ones, so I doubt anyone will miss them.
I went round the house before leaving for work making sure everything electrical was turned off and the stopped the central heating coming on this evening (since I wasn't due to get home til 11pm, no point it kicking in at 6pm as usual!). Suprisingly, the house isn't cold now anyway so I've not needed to turn it back on. Need to make this part of my daily routine I think.
I also did my good deed for the day - found a purse in the street near work. Inside was a staff ID card for a local factory so I took it to their security guard so he can return it to the owner. Not money saving for me but there was some money in there so hopefully someone else has benefited.
Before I go to bed, I'm going to look at which of my lights have low energy bulbs in them. Most of them do but I think I can save a few pennies by swapping them round - putting low energy bulbs into the lights used most often and then putting the old high energy bulbs in places like the spare room where I rarely turn the light on anyway.
Total spend for 2007 - still just £9.96.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.
January challange - sell 10 items. 0 down, 10 to go!0 -
I walked to and from work this evening - 30 minutes each way. This saved me two pounds in bus fares.
Have put my thermal vest and Long Janes on, while at home, so that I don't have to put the central heating on. I am single and live alone - the Long Janes will remain our secret......
(The hot fireman from the USA thinks I am wearing my Victoria's Secret outfit!!!)0 -
