I made soup last night and have brought it in for lunch. All I bought was a bread roll (25p) instead of spending about £5.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Have checked cashback from credit card - this has been credited to credit card account which is now £41.18 in credit. This will be spent on groceries so my cash for groceries can go into my student od account. Transfered money to current account ready to be taken out to put towards student od. So have £143.18 towards od. On the downside cat at vets and looking at £160.00+ bill!

Reclaimed my bank charges - got £250 back from HSBC and £88 from First Direct :)
  • I have received a free children's book and DVD from a post on the Freebies board. The old me would have just given it to one of the many children in the family (if I had even bothered to send off for it). The new MSE me has put it into the "presents box" with a label so that I know who it is for - so that is one less birthday present to buy in March.

Also working on my expenses claim for the last 3 months - will be a nice boost for the bank balance before pay day.

Oh and have done the comps and clickthroughs on Quidco and tried searching for a cashback link for Lloyds TSB as I like the idea of their money matching scheme for Feb and Mar. If anyone knows of a referral site that includes this please let me know.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
  • hi all, I'm having a pretty good money saving day!
I have bagged £15 in change from the piggy bank - and left it there for a rainy day!
I got back onto the freefivers website and have £18.95 pending - spent 15mins clicking for more today!
I used the £2.50 in my paypal account to buy cheap day to page diary rather than £5 in WHSmith! This is my new spending and eating diary! Just hope I can get into the swing of doing that now.
Also, visit to library for kids books and a DVD for £1 (discounted rental for the holidays).
All in all I think this was a good day!
Am off to cook a big batch of chilli for dinner and freezer - also saving me another day's dinner!
    Keep up the good work!
