Three (3) One Plan - does it include free video calls?

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone else on the Three (3) One Plan knows whether this plan includes free video calls or if they are chargeable - just before I get too carried away video calling friends and family...!

Have tried emailing 3 but haven't had a reply.

Video calls are not included as part of the one plan. Video calling is charged at 51ppm

Many thanks for confirming. That's a shame! I guess I could use Skype instead - would the front facing camera in the phone act with Skype in the same sort of way as a video call does anyone know pls?

I think you also have fring google etc do video calling

Hi, thanks for your reply. I'll take a look at fring but would prefer to use skype if I can, only because I'm already familiar with that and have it on the phone. I had a look at the Thre website and there's a bit on there that says, "what are the charges for using skype?" when you click on that link it tells you it's free to use skype on your phone BUT Only if you download it from the Planet 3. So I looked on Plamrt 3 but there is no option to download Skype there! Am I missing something? Have messaged Three about this but they still haven't replied. Really want to try this out on the phone but don't want to end up racking up a huge bill.
Is anyone on the Three One Plan and successfully using skype for video calls without charge?

What phone do you have?
Skype have released an Android version with video calling. See http://blogs.skype.com/en/
Three's version does not do video just voice, you need skype's version which uses data from your data plan. (one plan unlimited so not a problem)
You can download from Android Market.
