ebay punters. ' i was told last week an ebay seller of my upstanding should not list DVDs as very good if they have surface marks..'0

Ebay have done their usual 'tell the punter anything to get them off the phone'. If the return is due to a faulty item then you need to refund the original postage cost. If it goes to a paypal chargeback then that's what the buyer will get anyway.dazedandconfused_123 wrote: »Thanks for the advice
As a result I've just spoken with Ebay and they have confirmed
1. I don't need to refund either her postage costs to return the item, or the original postage cost
2. If I receive any further mails from her I can (if I decide to) report her for harassment (they also don't agree with mailing a complete stranger at 23.50
)
I'm so glad I asked the question on here as I was upset about it and your answers helped alot :beer:
I am also unclear as to why the timing on an email is so relevant? I often sit up late and email through to my work colleagues so that they will have my emails early the next morning. I did not think that they would look at my email timing and consider me 'rude'. However I do agree that is is completely unrealistic to expect any seller to respond so quiickly especially if the email is sent at an odd timeI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. INCORRECT - You do have to refund original P&P
2. If I receive any further mails from her I can (if I decide to) report her for harassment (they also don't agree with mailing a complete stranger at 23.50
)
WHY? - What difference does it make to you what time they emailed?

Having said that the buyer seems like a PITA. Ebay still shouldn't give you duff info though;)0 -
You certainly wouldn't phone someone at 11.30, but I am an owl and often stay up late using the computer because most of my best writing gets done after about 5 o'clock...
Like now for instance..."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
