Hi
I guess this is a bit of a moan, but any advice would be great even if it only "Get a life, Ebay is not real life
"
Long story short-was given a new camera as a gift and so put the old one on Ebay-it isn't in bad nick and for a cheap price you don't expect it to be diamond encrusted!! (do you?)
Anyway the winning bidder emailed me straight away and said can I post it straight away?
I thought this was a bit wierd as the listing always states within three working days (even though i usually post as soon as I can) but never mind I posted it that very afternoon. That should have been my warning that this girl wants the moon on a stick!
Anyway she mails a couple of days later and says it's faulty and she doesn't want it. Hey ho, that's fine by me-happy to offer her a refund
lets be clear here I'm not a business seller, I have a regular 9-5 and am not on Ebay 24/7
When I did not respond 14 minutes later-yes 14!!! She opened a case at Ebay and her comments said, among other nasty things about me, I had tried to con her!!
Anyway I replied straight away and said no problem with her returning the item for a refund.
She then requested my address late last night (23.50 ish) I was honestly under the impression my details are on the resolution center and will be provided by Ebay-this is what it says ! and I foolishly believed it :rotfl:
Obviously it this time of night I was not available to provide these, so she must have gone to Ebay about me (again) as I had a mail timed 8.13am copying us both in providing ALL details.
Ok, but this has not stopped this girl sending me a nasty, slightly threatening, mail tonight that she has tried to contact me today (I WAS AT WORK) and has spoken to Ebay customer services about me (God only knows what she said to them )
I know I'm being silly but I'm really upset that this girl is dragging my name and reputation through the mud
I thought you had to be 16 or 18 or something to use Ebay, maybe I'm wrong?
Thoughts? (thanks for reading this long post!)

This is why I gave my unwanted items to an animal charity and have also given up Ebay because of the bl...dy winging customers. Sorry don't do people!!0 -
thanks for your replies
Do you reckon (to end the haressment) I should message her to say bin the item, I don't want it back, I'll refund you in full, that's an end to it!Thanks to all posters for your never ending help and support:beer:0 -
stick to your guns, or send her a courier label for it to be picked up, tell her to be in whenever or drop it off at a shop, and to seal the original packaging then print and stick the label, I'd recommend Interparcel, Parcelmonkey, myHermes, thepackagedeliverycompany and collect+0

No definitely not, if she wants a refund she should return the camera. That's what she'll be told to do in the dispute.
If you haven't already, I would put in the dispute,
As previously agreed a refund will be made as soon as I receive the camera back.
Please return to, name
address
& then when she returns to the refund.0 -
Don't back down. She has to return the item for refund. If you refund her without her returning it, she will think she can do this to everyone she buys from.0
-
And she needs to return it by a trackable method and (i think this is right) you don't have to refund the return postage if you're not a business seller. Also - do you have any way to check it is actually your camera you are getting back?
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0 -
Just to echo what Hermum and Drc have said, if she wants a refund, insist that she sends the phone back and via a trackable service (signed for).
And as Techno states, she has to meet the cost of the return postage herself.
Regrettably, there are some opportunists out there, who love to make a profit and get a thrill out of aggressively extracting refunds and free goods from honest, occasional sellers ... don't let her smell blood!
"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."

Thanks for the advice

As a result I've just spoken with Ebay and they have confirmed
1. I don't need to refund either her postage costs to return the item, or the original postage cost
2. If I receive any further mails from her I can (if I decide to) report her for harassment (they also don't agree with mailing a complete stranger at 23.50
)
I'm so glad I asked the question on here as I was upset about it and your answers helped alot :beer:Thanks to all posters for your never ending help and support:beer:0
