My Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 is about to run out and I have bought the 2011 disk ready to install.
Do I need to uninstall the 2010 version before putting in the 2011 version?
Or, will it just overwrite the old version?
Thanks

Would strongly advise uninstalling using Kaspersky removal tool.
Then download KIS2012 trial and use your new 2011 key to activate after 30 days.0

I've not had any trouble upgrading over the current version for the last three or four year numbers - but dogmaryxx's suggestion appears to be their current policy.
But I've just had to uninstall KIS 2012, because it appears to be giving me STOP 0x19, BAD_POOL_HEADER, Blue Screens every few hours on Windows 7 64-bit...0

Kaspersky Pure seems to do this to me occasionally, but only on shutdown.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

It is very strange, I have been getting a message from Kaspersky every day when I switch my computer on saying that my license is about to expire and giving a link to either renew or, activate a new license if one has been purchased.
I bought my 2011 disk from Play.com and so today just clicked the activate new license link and it was just so easy, I couldn't believe it. All I had to do was enter the new activation code and that was it:T I didn't even have to put the new CD into the computer.
My only query is: does this mean I am still running the 2010 version rather than the 2011 version that I have just purchased? If I am, does it really matter? When I bought the new CD it said it included a free upgrade to the 2012 version, but as long as my computer is protected does it make any difference?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

Yes its older protected yes but not as well protected as using 2012 version .
But i would be happy using older Kaspersky rather than AN Other security .

If it's anything like Norton, then if the product is updated before you activate it, the programme on your computer gets the same update.
For example, I have three discs of 360 v5. When I next need a licence, v6 will be out. So when I put in the v5 licence key, I'll get v6. Hope that makes sense.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products.
