This seems good value to me as a Wimpey or a Big Macdonalds and chips is probably going to be a bit more than this. Big Macs are about £1.20 and the chip things are about 70p for a small red packet.
There is no comparison between burger king burgers, their greasy french fries and this deal. You're getting a prime burger similar to an angus burger for the price of a basic burger king burger. And the deal is even better when you take into account that you're getting a cheap pint of fosters etc too. Where do you get a bigmac for £1.20? The basic burgers in burger king are £1.49 and they are crap.
The burgers are not quite as mass produced as either macdonalds or burger king as you can tell when you look at the rolls.
Moneysaving is not just about saving money, it's about paying low prices for quality goods.
And as for wimpey. If you're a bargain hunter, you don't set foot in there. Man are they still around?0 -

I find all the draft drinks in Wetherspoons are so hit & miss. I'd say 7 out of every 10 pints i've ever had in a Spoonies have been ropey (in the Greater London area) and surely most of us have heard the stories of them buying the beer cheap close to the expiry date so as to pass the savings on.
I used to think the food was great for the price until one of my mates worked in the kitchen there and showed me the colour of the oil in the fryer - a very disturbing dark brown almost black!!!0 -
Many of the spoons are in the good beer guide - now CAMRA wouldn't be doing that if the beer wasn't good. Real ale in spoons is usually good.0

Ours spoons sells the best beer in town, never had a bad pint.0

Our local Spoons is naff. The service is terrible, last time we were in we actually timed how long it took to be served - 13 minutes - and we're talking a Monday night here. Never had the food so can't comment, but the prices are decent enough.
Agree that cold drink thing is annoying, it certainly does disguise the taste of what you're drinking. I used to like Carling but almost every pub gives you the Extra Cold whether you ask for it or not, so I've now moved on to drinking Stella. To be honest, I think lager in the UK is going downhill fast. Don't suppose we can blame Spoons for this though...!
If only they'd sell Stella's Belgium brother Jupiler in the UK, all lager drinkers would be happy.Quidco savings: £499.49 tracked, £494.35 paid.0 -

The stellar we get here is tosh! Its brewed in burton upon trent. Better to go for an imported lager really. I think it used to be the casr of wetherspoons getting their drink near the date but they are so big now i think that they get a hefty discount!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Who believes that about buying beer near the date? What brewers have that amount of stock kicking baout, they get a hefty discount through buying power and use long payment schemes to maximise profit. Amdn what food they dont fry, onion rings chips etc, is chill cook stuff made in central chill freeze kitchens. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

LAGER is rubbish anyway.
It is beer for people who dont like the taste of beer.
The only proper beers that have any taste any more are real ales thee days.0 -
I have been using Wetherspoons for quite a few years, and also mystery shop them every month, and can honestly say that it is very rare to get a bad pint, and if I have, it is replaced without question.
Thet are NUMBER 1 as far as I am concerned.
The burgers have also been changed recently, and are vastly improved, and at 3.99 for a burger and a drink, have to be superb value for money!!0
