Baggage Connection flights

Booked flight Edi-LHR then later in day LHR-Las Vegas with BA.

Would prefer not to collect luggage at Heathrow, but how do we go about this when booking online 24hrs before.
Does anyone think it is better to collect luggage at Heathrow?
Going on Friday can't wait, but not a regular flyer so any advice appreciated.:beer:

If you have two separate bookings with BA.com and not booked through travel agents, perhaps call BA and they may be able to do something with the bookings to check the baggage through.

The BA check-in/baggage drop desk at Edi should be able to book your luggage through to Las Vegas if you ask them.

I have done this a number of times, they have always asked at the check-in desk.

If you have a connecting flight in America you need to re-check your bags.
