    Hi everyone!

Sorry for being AWOL again the past few days - I honestly need more time! It's been a blast though & I want to do the weekend all over again, it's been very DFW in some ways in that I have ordered my car breakdown cover for the year using Mr T's vouchers, sorted my car insurance being rather savvy using comparison sites, using saynoto0870 to call my current insurer to cancel, etc & sold another item on ebay (only 99p but it's 99p more then I had before...), but not so DFW in that I have spent more than I wanted too entertainmentwise...this seems to be my biggest downfall! Although I suppose for 2 nights out in town, a day trip to Birmingham to look at wedding rings & then see Airbourne & Iron Maiden & then the cinema yesterday I have done ok!

Oh well, will just have to tighten the pursestrings a little more this month, in fairness I did resist the t shirt when I saw Iron Maiden on Sunday! I also made some progress on my 101 list item without even trying too :D

    Today I have/will:-
    • [STRIKE]Used freebie deodorant that I am being paid to trial[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Made use of free water at work [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Food from stores[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Pop to the post office to post ebay sale[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check online banking & shift funds around[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Will use freebie toner as part of Tesco Home Panel[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Catch up with Friday's thread[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Go through wedding budget again[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check out Flylady thread & do something!!! The house is a tip, major declutter session needed[/STRIKE] - Made a start at least...downstairs looks ok, upstairs is still dire...
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x

    Howdy good people :D

Hope you are all doing well and feeling positive today.

    Rant alert!

Strange ol' day for me tbh but I'm pushing through. Lots of good things happening so lots to feel positive about but still feeling pretty unsettled and annoyed about work and with it interfering with my 'real life'! I thought I'd get a few weekends overtime this month but turns out that overtime is scheduled for the bank holiday weekend only when I'm meant to be travelling to Scotland for my friend's 30th and seeing my parents :( In a bit of a quandry - obviously working overtime would save me lots in travelling/expenses and I'd make a good bit of cash (time and a half for about 15-20 hours) but gutted at the same time - also already paid for a hire car for that weekend :(:(:(

Also, I don't know if any of you remember, but remember a while ago I was talking about possibly getting a promotion at work??? Turns out that I've been on the wrong grade since I started here 2 years ago!!! My boss always thought I was the grade above and that's what I've been getting paid at but HR messed up my contract, although my pay is as though I am already a grade above!!! (ie no pay rise for me…) Main issue is that I will now get bupa cover, and should've had that for 2 years… :( Remember that £200+ I spent at the chiropractor that should've been covered?!!! Might go back to the chiropractor every week to make sure I get my money's worth out of the cover they offer!

    Rant over :)

    Small things:
:) Waved hubby off to his first new day at his new job :j :j :j
:) Used vouchers I get through work to buy friend's baby pressie and some food because my cupboards were bare post hol
:) Looked at houses online  Might take the plunge and sell up  Didn't sleep last night for thinking about this
    :) Saved £2 coin
:) Check banking/cc and assess post-holiday damage
    :) Online shop perhaps???
    :) Tidy round/unpack
:) Subscribed to Rictus's 'don't buy anything' challenge for inspiration/motivation

Candy can I ask which vits you take for hormones pretty please?
Stitchy - sewing novice here - need to take up hem on my work trousers - is wonder web ok or is that just laziness and should I get a needle and thread out…? Or should I just stick to sellotaping them every time I wash them like I do with my current ones? :p
Sharronej - welcome to the madhouse! :D
NTBY - oh it was lovely, thanks. Went round Scotland camping, visiting friends and family and chilling out with hubby. Went a few walks along the coast/isle of Bute and the weather was lovely too, which made it all the better. Then to round it all off I went to my friend's wedding on the bonny banks of Loch Lomond, so v picturesque. :)
OrangeFairy - you are Harry Potter crazy, esp with watching the Half Blood Prince too :D

    xxx

Oh dear, sorry for the mammoth post! Can you tell I've missed you?! :rotfl:

Hi all, hope you've had a good day! Not done too badly with my tasks for the day, just need to avoid the shops for the rest of tonight and I'll be happy!

Just a quick question if no one minds me asking! Has anyone tried cutting in half make up remover wipes and storing them in a jar - I don't tend to wear much makeup and it drives me potty throwing a whole wipe away with just a smear of mascara in one corner! If so, what kind of jar, and do they stay moist? I'm sure I've seen someone mention it on this thread before so hopefully someone can answer!:D

Stitchy - sewing novice here - need to take up hem on my work trousers - is wonder web ok or is that just laziness and should I get a needle and thread out…? Or should I just stick to sellotaping them every time I wash them like I do with my current ones? :p

Heehee, glad I'm not the only one who does this!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening, sun's finally come out so might take the laptop outside for some essaying in the garden!
