Tuesday 2nd August 2011 - What Small Things will you do today……?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free! :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.!
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning All,
Hugs to those that need them, hi to all regular posters and newbies
Today I have/will
• Will have a LSD – need to buy breakfast and lunch, but these should be cheapies as the canteen is subsidised (ran out of time this morning)
• Do any surveys in my mailbox
• Look for MS jobs
• Dinner from stores
• Checked my online banking – moved odd pennies to ISA
• Worked on my budget for the month – not pretty, but should be OK
• Check Quidco
• Charging phone at work
• Think positive today
• Read newspaper online
• Read the freebie paper on the train
• Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
• Enter comps online
• Drink plenty of water
• Take meds and vits to control hormones
• Update food diary (online and paper copy)
• Check mobile useage
• Batch cook a couple of meals for the week – didn’t do this yesterday!
• Catch up on the thread whilst dinner is cooking
Will see what happens....
Take care everyone

Good morning all, and thanks to Candy for starting us off this morning. I've sat and stared at this screen long enough; time to get on with things..
So far today:- checked banking
- checked for surveys
- fed and watered the chickens
- had HM granola for filling breakfast
- got sourdough starter out of fridge to kick it back into life
- grabbed a few bits for lunch/snacks
- visit my favourite charity shop at lunchtime and spend no more than a pound (looking for something specific
) - keep an eye on surveys during the day
- try to get through the working day; yesterday was awful again
- dinner from stores - spaghetti carbonara using fresh, free-range organic eggs with food metres not food miles :rotfl:
- visit friend tonight and help with her crochet problem - free coffee and cake!
so even the above is enough for me!
catch up later, stitchy xMaking magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -

- Sparkle
JxNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
Hi, Please may I join?
I've also checked my emails and banking (there seems to be a link between debt and checking your bank accounts lol). I've updated my monthly account book to give myself space for unexpected spends and dh's habit of ordering business parts out of the household account - I'm also keeping an eye on those and will present him with a nice bill at the end of the month lol.
Joined the 1 debt in 100 days board.
Will make a list of all the food in the house and maybe join the store cupboard challenge board.
Batch cook some lentil soup for myself.
Walk to the bank instead of taking the car.0 -

Morning everyone,
I'm still in the W Midlands by default. There was an accident yesterday and the m6 North was shut till this morning. The local traffic was heaving. I could have gone up the back roads and had a scenic trip through Staffs but really couldn't be trashed so stayed put for another night. So todays list is a bit of a repeat of yesterdays:
Quick shower soon.
Breakfast from flat.
Fill up with fuel at Mr M.
Drive carefully 200 miles up M6.
Have lots of doggie snugggles when I get back. (and maybe off OH too).
WAshing on when I get back.
A bit of decluttering.
College work.
NSD apart from petrol hopefully.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
