To get the cash incentive does the meeting have to include a credit check which goes is marked your credit record?

They pointed out to me, before doing any searches, that it would not hit my credit profile. Worth confirming though.

Only their regular saver is any good at 12%, if they still do it. That's the only reason i have any accounts with them at all.

My monthly saver is up soon, so glad to know they still do this. Will let him do a review and then arrange for a new monthly saver (and current account if needs be). Will probably be quicker to do it this way anyway.

i've waited more than 60 days.. for my £25 and still haven't got it..they say it will arrive at end of jan..which i'm still hoping!

They told me 26 weeks when I did mine so I'm about to start chasing it up as it was about 26 weeks ago.

I had my review today. The woman was very good actually, we had a good time. She started out by asking "why have you come along today" so I said "it's £25 cashback so that's why I'm here". She didn't try any hard sell on me and we actually had a good time talking about 0% balance transfers via Egg money, stoozing, matched betting and savings. She tried some gentle sell on investments and also pointed out that some form of sickness insurance might be worth considering. She actually said "you are a very interesting man" or something similar at one point. So it was very MSE friendly really.

I liked her because she was quick enough to realise that I liked talking about financial matters and therefore hard sell wasn't going to achieve anything.
    Happy chappy

I have one tomorrow - but the advisor on the phone never mentioned the £25. Should I just try my luck and say I was offered the cash?
I can't imagine they can offer anything better than the ISA's and regular savings I'm already considering with other companies - so it's unlikley I'll take up any service (or an hour of their time).

I still haven't got my £25 even after going into the branch and asking for it 5 times now! Have spoken to the manager who assured me that I hadn't been forgotten but that it takes time to search the records to find the info they need. Well that was a few weeks ago and I've left an answering machine message a week ago too that I haven't had a reply to.

So I decided to phone head office, last time they just said you need to deal with the branch, this time I phoned the complaints number:

    0116 200 4444

And they were as helpful as can be! She promised a letter detailing the timescales in which they deal with the complaint within 7 days (which I have already received!) and I will have my money within 28 days! It was such a pleasent phone call compared to the usual "we'll try to have a look!".

I urge anyone who did this to check they received the £25 and if they didn't then phone that number (I got it from the complaints section of A&L's web-site if you want to verify the number). I'll post back in a few weeks hopefully overjoyed at having received my £25!

Unfortunately I don't think they are offering the £25 anymore - the offer disappeared from the website a little while ago.

I had mine a couple of weeks ago, my friend told me about it. Apparently they started it up again.

although I didn't sign up for anything (only the £25 ofcourse) I found it quite informative especially about inheritance tax.

I was suprised though to see £25 sitting in my account about a week later :j
It is unwise to pay too much but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, all you lose is a little money... that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot...it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better (John Ruskin - 19 ctry author, art critic & social reformer)

I think it's ongoing ... My A&L account has opened in the last few days and they told me I could get £25 for attending a review and £50 if I took something out ... or something like that anyway ... :o
