Car hire in Manchester

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good value car hire company at Manchester airport. We would collect there and return the car to Bermingham Airport. We need a car for 4 days.

I use Europcar at the airport every month, good staff and good cars. However unless you book in advance they are not always the cheapest. The cheapest appears to be Budget which are now part of Avis who I try to avoid if at all possible. There will almost certainly be a drop off charge as you are not returning it to the original depot, hopefully not as much as the £100 I had to pay to drop an Avis car in London after collecting it at Durham Tees Airport the day before. Book as early as you can to get the best deal, avoid Hertz at all costs, Manchester seems to have the oldest cars with the highest mileage of any car rental at the airport, you could check Enterprise, they have an office at Manchester, not sure about Birmingham and always try to get me to book with them, usually while I am waiting in the car park at Terminal 3 for a car from Avis, who never seem to have cars available when you arrive

Watch your one way rental costs - they vary significantly between various operators. Enterprise have offices at both.
