Hi
i need help to write a letter to the person who fitted our kitchen as things have gone wrong with certain bits and he is not returning any of my calls etc so i wondered if anyone was any good at writing these sort of things.
i need to include certain things like
1.worktops need replacing due to not been sealed properly at joins and water/condensation getting in and worktop swelling
2.as above but due to a join been made that was not supposed to be there
3.sealent around tiles needs replacing to due to it sinking
4.damage to laminate floor where water leaked when removing old sink etc causing laminate to swell etc.
i need to give him 7 days to respond and to tell me how he is going to resolve these problems or after seeking legal advice i will be pursuing to matter in the small claims court
just really need someone who is good with words to help me out
also has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing and how do it end??
many thanks
Kelly

Might be worth checking out your local Citizen Advice bureau for guidance - they are usually very good and free!

Hello kellyf
I'll move your thread to 'The (Consumer) Vent' board, where it should get more responses.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

One thing to bear in mind is to be polite but firm. Flatter the company, but make it clear that you expect more. Getting nasty at the start never helps - you can save the nastiness for later if they do not respond!Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0

you seem to know what to say Kelly (with the giving them 7 days to respond and also in the way you write down your points as numbers). Use this format for your letter (perhaps in bullet points) to make it clear to them what exactly the problem is.
You may find this useful - had it on my favourites but not really looked at it properly yet.

My only experience of this sort of thing was with my conservatory had built. One of the problems was a faulty fan we paid £100 for - they replaced it after many phone calls and a letter but that one didn't work after they'd gone and I was too stressed so didn't complain again. They didn't sort the other problem out after two letters - should have taken it further (perhaps with Citizens Advice)
Good luck
