  • What a fantastic idea! I think, something like this would really motivate me to clear some of my debts. Can you join at any point or is at a specific date?

the 100 days run from and to specific dates for this challenge but you are welcome to join in at any point as long as you realise that you don't get the whole 100 days. This challenge started mid August so you haven't lost many days if you still want to join us.

    Hi everyone,

Not being doing to well on this challenge yet again but am of the mark with £42 from ebay sales and more items to list. With a few mystery shops coming up. Just need to stop silly spending it's like if I have money in my purse I have to spend it. So going to only take a few pounds out with me during the day and leave all cards at home to see if that helps curb my unnecessary spending.

Thanks Amara for running the challenge again

  • Hi all everyone is doing really well keep going!

    I saved £270 today so Im £411.93/£2000 :j

I have £350 to come next week but will report it when the cheque clears!
  • 84. Remote_control £1982.65

Paid off £1000. :-) Bit of a cheat really as we spent money on the credit card while on holiday and so knew that we'd be able to pay off half of the credit card bill in one go. But it is still very satisfying. We've had money come in from TCB and ebay sales as well which has helped. The next £982.65 is going to be MUCH harder to shift. But I love a challenge.

    Good luck all
  • Hey All, and to you lurkers out there! ;)

WOW! What fantastic progress you're all making! Well done everyone :D.

Personally, I'm finding that by returning to cash rather than having 'virtual money' by swiping everything onto my debit card has really curbed my general spending. I can see it, feel it, smell it and now don't wanna part with it! Plus a positive and unexpected side-effect is that the children are starting to be aware of money too. Now they're starting to ask 'How much is this?' and 'What if I swap this for this, can I get more? 'How much food money is left?' (With this question, the immediate follow up is 'WOW! There's lots of money left, so explain to us why we haven't bought any more biscuits?!!') Ah bless! Their concept of money is knowing how to prioritise for the important things in life! Like biscuits! :D Lol, they get a packet of biscuits each on top of 'lunch biscuits' as it's far chepaer than a brand name chocolate bar plus it lasts a lot longer too!

Anyway, things are really good and with my money jars firmly in place (for life now) we're never gonna look back! God, it's so simple! I think that's why I've been so successful on this challenge, the money jars are idiot-proof ...:rotfl:... !

Time to report in ... OH found a £1 coin, so that went straight in the cc pot (he knows any money comes straight to me... what a good boy ;)!) And the children's Shooting Coach is on holiday, so just Fencing last night, saving me a whopping £3 each! £10 in the cc pot bringing my grand total up to £1911/£6769 :D

    Love to all
