The phone calls are unlikely to be because of the hacking, with the amount of comps that are posted and entered, a lot of your details will be out there because of that, or if you have used price comparison sites etc. I even had Dyson ask if they could use my details when i phoned them because my hoover was smelling like burning rubber, so there are many ways for firms to collect peoples details.
Sony were hacked a while back, and that site wouldve had a lot more details than The Sun, so i really do think people dont need to worry as much as they are.0 -
Gutted!!!
I got the same email at 19.03pm
I dont like this m&s emailed me too while back
Im getting to many spam emails now im sure due to this.
So my name age tel no and address. What can the hacker actually use this
this info for???
Can we sue under data protection act?0 -
No e-mail for me?
Does that mean I am unhackable... lol..
I think like compingcat has already said, most of the details we give out can already be accessed.
Unless they have your banking details which they do not in my case then just change your password.0 -
I had it too, to an old email account that I used to post on the forums they have. (Or to post comments on the articles)Wishing you all good luck!

Also why are they saying the details may already be published on internet now by group responsible?
why would group responsible do that?

im phoning them in morning0 -
I recieved an email from The Sun regarding this. I'd presumed they'd send it to every person who's entered competitions on their site. At least they are being honest and not fobbing people off. I was talking to my wife about hacking today and I said if these teenagers being arrested can hack into sites run by big companies like Sony and even the FBI then my details for AN Other website.com can easily be hacked into?0
